Be Bold

It’s no secret that we here at GUM are fans of Bold Souls – an exciting fashion pop-up event taking Glasgow by storm. The latest instalment saw The Arches play host, providing the perfect platform for showcasing one-of-a-kind designs and vintage fare.

Co-creator of the event, Silvia Pellegrino, brought her own brand of bold, unique designs to the table with Chouchou and got us hot under the collar with her collection of fabulous and fashion-foward hoods. Illa provided the ultimate lesson in recycling with a collection of kitsch purses and bags made entirely from pre-loved fabrics, each piece with its own story to tell. For lovers of vintage Once Upon a Time delivered an affordable range along with customised clothes and accessories and Konstantine fed our vintage lust further, as well as giving us a collection of customised shoes to salivate over – studs and glitter galore! Meanwhile, our jewellery needs were met by Ursula Graham with a range of tassled/feathered earrings, head pieces and necklaces whilst Freakdem’s printed t-shirts went down a treat with the boys.

Not only delving into the realm of fashion, Bold Souls introduced us to Eilean Shona Arts where we could buy cute cards, sketch books and illustrations and we also had the chance to get glammed up for our Saturday night with Pinky & Perky for nails and Rainbow Rooms for free hair styling.

Share it Wear it also offered a different shopping experience in the form of a swap shop, whose mantra ‘swap it shop it’ encouraged us to bring forth our unwanted clothes and accessories for the chance to exchange them for someone elses – and not a penny spent!

So this Christmas there’s no need to sweat it out on the high street with elbows at the ready as Bold Souls is back on the 26th of November and promises to cater to all your Christmas needs! Make it a date, and enjoy a truely unique and stress free shopping experience.

Saturday 26th November, The Arches, 12-5.30pm, £3 (students)
