15th September 2010
Three days into Fresher’s 2010 brought the most anticipated night of the week. The parties held by Subcity Radio at this time of year bring massive amounts of excitement though the combination of the best electronic musical talents and new blood wondering what Subcity Radio is all about – fresh indeed.
Held in the SWG3 Warehouse, a suitably distant and cavernous a location to heighten the wonder, Subcity DJs Pasty 32, Diggin the Twelve Inch, All Caps Radio, Indra and Shaun fae Solar began their mind expanding exploration into the vast, bass heavy landscape of Glasgwegian electronic music. The near complete darkness of the venue was boldly interrupted by large screens with visuals courteously provided by Joe Crogan and Visual AIDS. Altogether, the atmosphere was set for a seductively heavy, anything-could-happen kind of night.
Fuelled by the painfully relentless bass, the crowd responded instinctively to form a group welded by innate style and primal desire just for good music. For those uninitiated in the world of Subcity Radio, this night provided a stomping good welcome, showing that the university based station is a provider of musical class and can put on a show to rival (and often surpass) anything else on the Glasgow scene.
