Scottish Ballet: Stravinsky: The Fairy’s Kiss & the Rite of Spring @ Theatre Royal

Scotland’s national dance company returns with The Rite of Spring, a composition of one of the most distinctive and influential composers of the 20th century, Igor Stravinsky, and performed by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra. Using Stravinsky’s score, the show reveals the darker depths of Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale The Fairy’s Kiss.

SuperMax recently had its 10th birthday and it is certainly no accident that this night has been running for a decade with queues always snaking round the block – this is a hot favourite for groovy cats to shake a tail-feather at. Expect a very eccentric DJ spinning disco, house, and the occasional techno beat.
CinemaAttic Homage To Catalonia: A Thriving Film Hub for Short Films @ CCA

With all that is happening in the news right now, it seems quite timely to celebrate the positives from Catalonia. The CCA gathered together a collection of short films from the creative region, one of the titles being Oscar-nominated Juanjo Gimenez’s Timecode. These will no doubt be as entertaining and thought provoking as many other films shown at the CCA.
Babaloose @ The Glue Factory

One of Glasgow’s most interesting and elusive venues, The Glue Factory, is pretty picky about the events it hosts. Babaloose, on the other hand, is an innovative concept which would have been hard for them to pass on. An open platform, for anyone to come and perform in anyway they see fit. Almost anything goes. There is no sign-up needed, so people are able to do impromptu and off-the-cuff acts. It is also BYOB, so no need to fear that they won’t have that obscure craft beer that you love but can only get imported from Norway on the back of a heron.
